ABOUT US
Our Philosophy
At City Kitty, we care about the whole cat — mind, body and spirit. We believe in a holistic approach for the care of your cat and see beyond the needs of their hair. The needs and psychology of cats are unique and cannot be compared to that of other animals. We believe in a species-appropriate, raw diet and provide feline nutrition education. We believe in providing cats with a healthy physical and emotional environment, always treating them with love, respect and dignity.
Our highest priority is the health and well-being of your beloved cat. Everything we do is designed with their safety and comfort in mind. To ensure the best experience possible, we maintain a serene, relaxing environment by playing soft music, burning aromatherapy candles and preventing noise and distractions. We maintain the highest of standards for a spotlessly clean salon, and have only the best, state-of-the-art equipment.
We carry a wide variety of botanical products and offer personalized service with attention to detail by assessing the individual needs of your cat at every visit. Regular grooming is an integral part of your cat's overall health and well-being, and we love bringing out the best in kitty by showing off their beautiful, healthy coat!
City Kitty also believes in giving back to the community. Cat hair from City Kitty is donated to a manufacturer of anti-allergy medication. This medication can be prescribed by a physician to people who are allergic to cats so that they can be hyposensitized or de-sensitized (no longer allergic or hypersensitive) to cats. Additionally, City Kitty makes a donation to Meow Cat Rescue in Kirkland, Washington in memory of any of our feline clients who have passed away.
If this is your first visit to City Kitty, we understand any concerns or apprehensions you may have. We are happy to answer any questions or discuss your concerns regarding the grooming of your cat. Please feel free to send us an email. We also welcome visits to the salon.

About Adrienne
Adrienne Kawamura, Founder and Owner of City Kitty, is one of the first National Certified Feline Master Groomers, NCGIA. Adrienne has an extensive background working with animals, having started at only 16 years of age as a Veterinary Technician. She then spent many years grooming and showing purebred Golden Retrievers and Borzoi dogs. In 1988, she had the pleasure of having her first Persian cat. One Persian led to another, and she quickly realized her passion was catering to these incredible feline creatures. Adrienne successfully began showing and breeding Persians from her CFA-registered cattery, Islandsong Persians, out of Hawaii. She gained National and Regional wins, and was highly respected as a Persian exhibitor. Because of her love for her cats, which she considered family members, Adrienne could not bear to sell her retired show cats and consequently ended up with lots of pets!
Adrienne has a special connection with cats. She has the natural ability to communicate with them and her priority is to promote the physical and emotional health of cats, as well as to educate her human clients. She is respectful and listens to the needs of her feline clients.
As owner of City Kitty, Adrienne carries her strong work ethic into every aspect of the business. She meticulously hand-picks City Kitty groomers, taking into consideration their background and skills, as well as their natural ability to connect with felines. In addition, she provides her groomers with extensive hands-on training and have mastered the skills needed to produce consistently beautiful results. Our groomers take special care in tending to the needs of our clients, both feline and human. We see that everyone gets the individual care and attention that they deserve.
